FALLS OF CLYDE

For our outing yesterday, we drove to The Falls of Clyde. It was a beautiful walk. One of the signs said this is where William Wallace (Braveheart) was executed by being hanged, disemboweled, drawn and quartered. Pretty gruesome.

The falls aren't very big, but there are several of them.

The Boardwalk

This is Craigmillar Castle. We walked there with Andrea, one of our friends who is preparing to leave for BYU-I. She is not a member of the church, but I think she will be before long.

Costco here is almost exactly like the ones in the US, except for what they call some things. 

The menu includes "jacket potatoes" and "Aberdeen angus cottage pie"

 

RETURN TO LEITH

 

Here are a few pictures of the Edinburgh Castle. We rode the bus into the city checking out places to take Carly, Abby, and Tessa when they visit us in a couple of weeks.

                                      

We see this cow all the time when we go to historic Edinburgh, but this time Charles suggested taking a picture. I love it!

We spent some time Saturday checking out Dean's Village. It's in Edinburgh, on the Waters of Leith- a beautiful place!

You probably wouldn't see a window display like this in California!

LEITH WALK

Saturday, we rode the bus to Leith and went on the Leith Walk for a couple of miles. Leith is at the end of a 12 mile path, which also goes through Edinburgh near where we live. I thought it would be scenic where we went, but it's actually much prettier in other areas. It was fun though.

This was interesting! A random statue of a naked man standing in the Waters of Leith. The only other sculpture around was another naked man a mile or so farther up the walk.

 

MARCH

We visited a place called Linlithgow Loch and Linlithgow Palace Saturday.

We took Aaron and Eni out to lunch downtown one afternoon. They aren't really a couple, but they're interested in each other!
