SNOW, FLEA MARKET, FAMILY

For FHE Monday, the activity was Just Dance. We didn't have a huge turnout, probably because some didn't want to dance, but the ones who came got into it! Thank goodness the missionaries always show up too, because they make it more fun.
We woke up to this Thursday morning. It looked white and beautiful, but was gone by the next day!

I read about a flea market held in a warehouse in Leith on the fourth Saturday of every month, so we checked it out yesterday. It wasn't as big as we expected, but I still found a red leather jacket with a hood for 12 pounds!

The cow and the dog were at the flea market, and you can see my red jacket!
There was some kind of a big soccer (football) game going on between Scotland and France because we saw lots of kilts and hats and flags!

Here are some family pictures. Carly and Rich did some goat yoga!

Baby Owen is filling out and looking really cute!
Tessa is getting really good at drawing!

MORE FEBRUARY

We had Andrea and her husband, Ian, and Mary over for dinner so they could talk about Rexburg, Idaho, where Mary is from. Andrea is not yet a member of the church, but she had a strong feeling about going to BYU-I, so she applied and was accepted for spring term. Ian will stay behind, so we'll try to watch out for him!
FHE was on Valentine's Day, so we decorated Valentine's cookies. The YA's got very creative! The next day, we took some of them around to YA's we haven't seen in awhile.
Today we went up to Calton Hill. It's in the heart of the city, near other places we've been, but we hadn't been here yet. This is the National Monument, or Edinburgh's Disgrace. It was started in 1826 and left unfinished in 1829 when the money ran out. It's modeled after The Parthenon.
There is an amazing view from up there. You can see for miles in every direction.

North Berwick

We finally took the bus trip to North Berwick we'd been planning for a few weeks, but kept cancelling because of bad weather. Yesterday's weather was not ideal, but it wasn't raining, so we went anyway. It was very windy though! The beach was next to a golf course, and people were actually out there playing!

This is how windy it was at the beach.
This is from FHE last week- Human Hungry Hippos

People were actually playing tennis too! We have discovered that bad weather does not deter Scots from playing outdoor sports.

FEBRUARY

The big news so far this month, is that we have a new little great grandchild. This is our first great-granddaughter, Madelyn June Johnson. She was born February 1 in Provo, Utah.
Her parents, Jake and Kelsey, are beaming, they are so happy. (they also look a little tired, after a long labor and sleepless nights)
Our FHE activity Monday was blindfolded waffle-making. While the designated blindfolded person stirred in the ingredients, their teammates guided them through the process. Actual waffle cooking was with eyes wide open. After eating what they cooked, they sat around and enjoyed each others' company.
