Yesterday, we decided to check out the Royal Botanical Gardens again. We went during the winter, and although it was pretty, the trees were bare and nothing was blooming. This time it was really green and some flowers were in bloom.
The thistle is actually the national flower.
We went to this place called B&Q, which is basically Home Depot, except that they also carry work clothes. Charles is going to make some corn hole games for the Young Adults and needed supplies.
I saw this Unicorn Antique store from the bus, and thought our granddaughters would like ot see it.
Andrew, our non-member YA from Transylvania is going back home Tuesday. These are the missionaries who taught him. They are also Assistants to the President, so I'm not sure they have much time to work with him. He loves our activities though, and hopefully, we've had some positive influence on him. Although there aren't many wards in his country, there is actually one in his city. Charles got him connected with a missionary there, and he is excited to meet him and join in their activities. We hope he will continue to learn about the gospel and become converted as well, but either way, he is having a good experience with church members, who love and accept him. He hasn't felt this kind of acceptance often in his life, and he really likes it.
Our activity for FHE Monday was karaoke. These are the sister missionaries in our ward rocking out.
Haley and Jason, our stake YA reps, planned an activity for yesterday. They put quite a bit of effort into it, and although it wasn't very well attended, those who came had a lot of fun and did some service. Our building, the stake center, is kind of neglected because no one is actually assigned to clean it. Charles and I clean it ourselves every couple of weeks, but no one else does. Haley and Jason decided they wanted the Young Adults to clean it, so that was the first part of the activity.
Afterward, they ordered Dominoes Pizza and we served watermelon and dessert. They were all starving and loved it.
A water balloon fight was planned for afterwards, and even though numbers were few and the weather was cool, the show went on and everyone had a good time.
